Use case 12 · Video to article
From a 40-minute talk to a publishable article, in one sitting.
Every webinar, conference talk and podcast episode is an article that has not been written yet. output.md pulls the transcript, cleans it into Markdown, and turns it into a blog post and a LinkedIn teaser — with you as the editor, not the typist.
Free account, 10 markdown + 10 AI credits included. No credit card needed.
Today
- Great talks watched once and never referenced again.
- Transcripts as a wall of unpunctuated text.
- A blog post that takes a full day to write from scratch.
With output.md
- A searchable, quotable transcript in minutes.
- A structured article draft with headings, in the speaker’s voice.
- A LinkedIn post and a translated version from the same source.
Step by step
How it works, in 5 steps.
-
01
Paste the video link
You do
Drop the YouTube URL into output.md.
You get
The full transcript as Markdown, ready to read and search.
-
02
Tidy the transcript
You do
Remove the housekeeping (“can everyone hear me?”), add a heading where the topic shifts.
You get
A clean source document you would be happy to quote.
TipTwo minutes of headings here makes the generated article noticeably better.
-
03
Generate the article
You do
Choose the Blog article transform.
You get
A publishable draft with its own angle, headings and flow — not a transcript with paragraph breaks.
-
04
Add the promotion
You do
Run the LinkedIn post transform on the same source.
You get
A short, native-feeling post pointing to the article.
-
05
Go multilingual
You do
Use the Translation transform on the finished article.
You get
The same piece in another language, structure intact.
Why it works
What you get out of it.
One recording, three assets
Transcript, article, social post — from a single conversion, each one editable.
Speaker’s voice preserved
The article is generated from what was actually said, so it sounds like the person, not a template.
Searchable back-catalogue
Convert past episodes into a project and your whole channel becomes text you can search and quote.
What it costs
1 markdown credit for the transcript, 1 AI credit per transform.
Transcript + article + LinkedIn post + one translation = 1 markdown and 3 AI credits. The free account covers your first few videos entirely.
Packs are one-time top-ups — no subscription. See all packs.
Questions
Before you start.
Does the video need captions?
It needs a transcript available on YouTube — auto-generated captions count. Videos with captions disabled cannot be converted.
Can I use my own recording that is not on YouTube?
Upload the transcript as a Word or PDF file instead, then run the same transforms.
How long can the video be?
Long talks and multi-hour podcasts work; the transcript is simply longer. Add headings before generating to keep the article focused.
Try it on your own material.
Paste a link or upload a file, and see the Markdown before you decide anything else.
