Use case 16 · Newsletters
Same workflow every week: collect, merge, publish.
Curated newsletters live or die on consistency. output.md gives you a repeatable loop: collect the week’s sources as clean text, add your own take, generate a draft in your tone, edit, send. The research is still yours — the assembly is not your Friday afternoon any more.
Free account, 10 markdown + 10 AI credits included. No credit card needed.
Today
- Twelve open tabs and a blank draft on Friday.
- Re-reading every article to remember why you saved it.
- A different structure every issue.
With output.md
- Every source as Markdown in this week’s project, with your notes attached.
- A draft generated in your tone and length, from your sources.
- The same structure every issue, in a fraction of the time.
Step by step
How it works, in 5 steps.
-
01
Collect as you read
You do
Paste each interesting article, video or PDF into this week’s project during the week. Hit Collect on the ones that make the cut.
You get
A collection that fills itself while you do your job.
-
02
Add your voice
You do
Upload a short Markdown note to the collection: your take, what to lead with, what to skip.
You get
A draft that reflects your opinion, not just the sources.
TipA five-line note changes the draft more than any prompt trick.
-
03
Generate the issue
You do
Generate one article from the collection with instructions: “Weekly newsletter, conversational, five items, one-line takeaway each, close with a question.”
You get
A structured draft in your format.
-
04
Edit
You do
Tighten in the editor. Add the personal line only you can write.
You get
An issue that sounds like you.
-
05
Publish
You do
Copy the Markdown into Substack, Beehiiv, Mailchimp, Ghost or your CMS — they all accept it.
You get
Sent. Next week: same loop, new project.
Why it works
What you get out of it.
Research becomes an archive
Every issue’s sources stay in their project as text. Search back through months of reading.
Consistent structure
Same instructions every week means the same shape every issue — readers notice.
Tone is yours
Your notes steer the draft; the editor lets you finish it in your voice.
What it costs
1 markdown credit per source, 2 AI credits per issue.
A six-source weekly issue is 6 markdown + 2 AI credits — roughly the Workspace pack for a quarter.
Packs are one-time top-ups — no subscription. See all packs.
Questions
Before you start.
Can I use the same instructions every week?
Yes — keep them in a note and paste them into the generation form each time. Consistent instructions give a consistent issue.
Will the draft copy the source articles?
The draft synthesises and summarises with its own wording. Always link to the originals — good practice for curation and good for your readers.
Does the output paste cleanly into my newsletter tool?
Markdown pastes into Substack, Ghost, Beehiiv and most editors with formatting intact. For tools without Markdown support, paste from the rendered preview.
Try it on your own material.
Paste a link or upload a file, and see the Markdown before you decide anything else.
